$65.00 – Purchased replacement battery for HP laptop.
Updates:
New members: MSDPO has four new members that live outside of Fulton.
Ordering of shirts: Sold a lot of new “Football” design shirt at the KSD football game, reduced price to $12.00. Received order for “MSD Established 1851” and “Deaf Eagles” shirts. Didn’t receive “ABC” shirt order due to Rob-Mar’s press breaking down. Reduced some older shirts to $5.00.
Sales at KSD game: Sales at the KSD game were very good and kept everyone busy.
Vice-President vacancy: Looking for Vice-President. Individual doesn’t have to live in the Fulton area. Will be posting on website and MSDPO “Parents’ Voice” newsletter.
Shelving for the MSDPO storeroom: We are currently working with MSD administration to obtaining shelving for the MSDPO storeroom. Measurements have been taken. These will be used to purchase the shelves from Missouri Vocational Enterprises (MVE). Will not purchase new inventory storage tubs until shelves are installed. MSDPO got used storage tubs donated from Barbara Garrison. Thank you for your donation.
MSDPO web site: Progress is moving forward on updating the website. Thank you for your patience.
T-Shirt design contest: MSDPO is discussing doing a new shirt design. Announcement will come later.
New Business:
Advanced order for polo shirts, hats, and visor: Items will be purchased from Rob-Mar Advertising; there will be no cost for embroidering and no minimal orders. Money must be paid in advanced.
Pizza Hut and Sonic Cards: After looking intobothfundraiser cards we soon learned this was going to be difficult because of the dynamics that our students, guardians and parents live throughout the state. Not all franchises in Missouri will accept these cards.
Pizza Hut “Fun” draiser Night: All students, faculty, staff and MSD friends will be invited to Fulton’s Pizza Hut for a “Fun”draiser Night. After a date and time has been set more, information will be sent home and emailed to students, faculty, staff and MSD friends. If “Fun” draiser is a success a second event can be planned. Julie Painter suggested March as an idea.
5K Walk/Run: Megan Key, MSD faculty member, approached MSDPO to see if we would be willing to sponsor a 5K Walk/Run. Megan wants to increase MSD fitness awareness. Each participate will pay a registration fee. MSDPO will have no liability for injuries. Little money is involved expect for t-shirts, water, snacks and promotion. City of Fulton will need to be contacted to see if permits are needed. Donations and volunteers will be gotten from local stores and MSD faculty/staff. MSDPO will get a portion of the profits. A possible April 30th date is being looked at.
Other:
Julie Painter asks how the MSD Business Office was doing on creating procedure guidelines for depositing MSDPO money. President Jeff Patridge that a draft to review has been received. He said he would forward a copy for her to review.
Next Meeting: The next meeting of the MSDPO will be held from 2:00 pm. – 3:00 pm. in the Eagles Nest on the MSD campus. A video chat room will also be provided at http://tinychat.com/msdparentsorg. Date and time will be set soon.
