In February 2000, the Office of Special Education of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) created a listserv to provide information to school districts. This listserv is known as SELS.
Since only one contact per school district could access this listserv, DESE decided to create a second listserv known as SELS2. This listserv contains the exact same messages as distributed on SELS, but is open to all principals, teachers, parents, and others who have an interest in special education. Currently, this second listserv has over 1,700 members.
